Uptime central

There used to be a project going to measure box uptimes, but I think the project is dead now. It's a shame really, as I think we'd have been at the top or at least somewhere in the top of the table with the uptime we've clocked up on one of our systems.

There's a few systems which I've got that have high uptimes, in the 200-300 days area, simply because there has not been the need to reboot them and they have been nice and stable.

As Ben points out, we have one system, a Linux box that has been up since it was last rebooted, back in October 2001. It just goes to show how stable an OS Linux can be.

The main suso.org server was once up for 421 days or something before it started having some hard drive problems.

Just this morning my work workstation had been up for 52 days (not bad for a workstation) until the power went out in the morning and the dumbass in my office shut off my UPS to keep it from beeping. :-(

I hope you told him not to do that again!
