MSN closes member directory

I noticed that the directory was closed on March 31st, when trying to look at some profiles. A bit strange I thought, maybe they were doing some work on it. But now, it's still not back up.

It seems that the directory has been closed due to fears that the information available may be used to find minors by paedophiles. It's good that the measures are being taken, but I don't think there is a need to totally close it whilst modifications are made.

So, get a move on MSN.

I agree, it is a nuisance. And how come they don't close the U.S. (and other countries) ones?

No idea. It is to do with the pedo issue, along the same lines as to why the MSN UK chat was closed.

The directory will be back, but probably with better search and protection people under a certain age so they don't show up in the directory.

It's all good, but surely it should be implemented globally and not just in the UK. It is taking a while to do, so it is obviously not a priority...
