Office dress code

I'm in favour of dressing smart for work, as appropriate. When it is appropriate, I'll go in full suit. Usually I'll just go in everything but the jacket which is normal as you'd normally take the jacket off anyway.

We normally have a dress down day on fridays, but some people were turning up in anything. Now there is no dress down Friday as it was before, now it is the smarter side of casual on a Friday.

The annoying thing is, now we have to go smart of a night as well. The whole idea of doing that is stupid, since there will be no customers or visitors on site between 8pm - 4.30am which is the hours people work at night. The other thing to consider is that this is meant to be a secure building and our actual office even more restricted as this is the Sun policy.

Allowing visitors and other people in, is breaking this. So, is dress code more important to some people than security?

Even if it is, people need to realise that visitors will not be around of a night - so why the change to now require smart office clothing at night?

Some things never do make sense.
